Make a Difference as a Volunteer with The Friends

When you visit the Refuge, you’re likely to encounter our volunteers, possibly anywhere! You may notice folks working throughout the Refuge who are not dressed in the Fish & Wildlife uniforms, or conducting interpretive walks, answering questions in the Visitor Center, or serving customers in the Nature Store. More than 100 active volunteers collectively contribute over 10,000 hours of service to the Refuge every year.
