The Sierra Club Loxahatchee Group has partnered with the Friends of the Refuge and the Audubon Society of the Everglades to co-sponsor Everglades Day in 2018. The Sierra Club Loxahatchee Group has long been a supporter of the Friends and a passionate advocate for the Refuge. The group's members have attended many meetings of the Palm Beach County Commission and the governing board of the South Florida Water Management District to speak up for the Refuge and the Everglades, whenever issues of concern have surfaced. They have written letters to the editor, galvanized the public through groups like the Coalition of Boynton West Residential Associations (COBWRA) and even sent Valentines to the governor to show support for the Refuge when lack of funding for invasive exotic treatment threatened the license agreement under which the federal government manages the Refuge. The Sierra Club Loxahatchee Group has been an exhibitor at Everglades Day for many years, and has been a lifetime member of the Friends since 2012.

The Friends are very grateful to the Sierra Club Loxahatchee Group and its members for all that they do!
