2026 Friends of Loxahatchee Annual Membership Meeting
February 22, 2026 from noon to 1:30 pm Refuge Visitor’s Center Theater 10216 Lee Road, Boynton Beach, FL
Join us the Annual Meeting of the Friends of Loxahatchee. There will be a short business meeting followed by a program overviewing the National Wildlife Refuge System and the role of Friends groups like ours.
Featured speaker: Friends Vice President Daniel DeLisi. Dan will speak on significant events and organizations in the history of the Everglades Restoration. Dan is a certified land use planner, circuit civil mediator and lobbyist with over 20 years of experience in zoning, land development regulations and water/environmental policy. He is currently the President of DeLisi, Inc., a consulting firm with both public and private sector clients specializing in finding creative solutions to implement complex land development and environmental restoration projects. See Dan’s full bio for more on his background and expertise in the field of land and water use policy.

CJ McCartney presents: Creating Vibrant, Sustainable Landscapes with Native Wildflowers, Meadows and Ground Covers CJ will explore how to create thriving landscapes and public spaces with native plants that not only attract birds, pollinators and butterflies, but restore wildlife corridors throughout our community. CJ will help you understand that your landscaping practices matter – they have a direct impact on the environment and to the quality of our lives. Different types of sustainable gardens will be discussed, such as creating a small, flower-filled meadow, adding groundcovers to create lively lawns full of butterflies and using native grasses to add color to any landscape.

Bring your friends and family to celebrate the Everglades by trying archery, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, obstacle course, and so much more!
Everglades Day is a free event at the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. Check out hands on activities from over 40 partners which include kayaking, archery, nature art, Everglades obstacle course, tram tours, guided hikes, FL history and nature speakers, and so much more! Activities for every member of the family and age range! Food trucks and beautiful nature views await you! Parking will be at West Delray Regional Park 10875 W Atlantic Ace, Delray Beach, FL 33446 and free shuttles will take you to the event 4 miles away.
